Jamar Traylor, age 20, and Michael Lockhart, age 21, both of Bridgeport, were arrested on Tuesday, June 1, by Bridgeport Task Force officers working in conjunction with Adult Probation, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management.

The bust went down after Task Force officers received credible information that Traylor was in possession of several illegal firearms along with high-capacity magazines.

On Tuesday, Traylor was detained by Adult Probation and a search of his residence was done. During the initial search, officers located a loaded firearm and a large amount of marijuana, police said.

During the search, Lockhart attempted to leave the basement area but was apprehended by two Task Force officers.

Lockhart had an active violation of probation warrant for $25,000.

Due to the evidence located by Adult Probation, Task Force officers applied for and were granted a search and seizure warrant for 126 Roberts St.

During the search of the home, officers located a facsimile firearm, five Glock semi- auto firearms, nine high capacity magazines, numerous rounds of ammunition, a 50 round drum, two 22 round magazines, five laser sights, holsters, and a bullet proof police style vest, Appleby said.

Both Traylor and Lockhart are convicted felons and are not allowed to legally possess or have firearms, ammunition, or a bullet proof vest, he added.

Lockhart is currently out on a $150,000 bond for robbery, larceny, and criminal use of a weapon.

Traylor is also on probation currently with a prior arrest back in 2018 for carrying a pistol without a permit.

Both Traylor and Lockhart were charged with numerous firearm violations, bonds were set at $250,000 each.
